Security Camera Installation in Sherman, TX

Cameras for gates, shops, barns, and driveways across Sherman and Grayson County. Hardwired systems that record on site.

Rural property is a different camera problem than a subdivision. Long driveways, outbuildings a couple hundred feet from the house, a gate nobody can see from the porch, equipment parked where anyone on the county road can see it. A doorbell camera doesn’t solve any of that.

What we install

  • Gate and driveway cameras, positioned so a plate is actually readable
  • Shop, barn, and outbuilding coverage
  • Perimeter cameras for equipment yards and livestock areas
  • Hardwired PoE systems with an NVR on site
  • Doorbell and entry cameras at the house
  • Repairs and expansions on systems somebody else installed

Why we hardwire, and why we record locally

Battery cameras are fine on a porch. They’re a bad answer for a gate three hundred feet out — you end up changing batteries in the rain, and the camera is offline the moment they die. We run PoE instead: one cable carries power and data, and the camera stays up.

Local recording matters even more if you’re on satellite internet. Starlink uses CGNAT, which means you don’t get a public IP address — there’s nothing to forward ports to. Cloud-only cameras also upload constantly, which is a poor use of the connection.

So we put an NVR on site. Footage records whether the internet is up or down, and you pull it up remotely when you want it. That’s also why we don’t sell cloud-subscription camera systems to satellite customers — they work badly and you’d pay monthly for the privilege.

What matters on rural property

The gate.

Most rural break-ins start at the entrance. One camera that reads a plate at the gate is worth more than four cameras around the house.

Equipment.

Trailers, tractors, welders, tool boxes. If it’s parked outside a metal shop off an FM road, it’s visible from the county road, and it’s the reason most people out here call us.

Distance.

Cat6 runs about three hundred feet before it needs help. On a property with buildings spread out, that gets planned for up front instead of discovered halfway through the job.

Metal buildings.

Grounding and surge protection matter on metal structures, particularly when your shop is the tallest thing for a quarter mile.

Construction.

With the semiconductor plant and everything that’s followed it, there’s a lot of building going on around Sherman. Job sites need temporary coverage as much as finished houses need permanent.

Service area

Sherman, TX and across Grayson County: Denison, Howe, Van Alstyne, Whitesboro, Pottsboro, Bells, Tom Bean, Southmayd, Collinsville, Gunter, Sadler, and the rural properties in between.

Already getting Starlink?

If we’re out installing satellite internet, cameras go in on the same trip. One visit, one crew, one invoice.

Common questions

Do I need internet for the cameras to work?

No. The NVR records on site. Internet only matters for viewing remotely.

Will cameras eat my Starlink data?

Not the way we set them up. Local recording keeps the footage on the property.

How far from the house can you put a camera?

Cat6 covers about three hundred feet. Past that we put a switch at an outbuilding or run fiber.

Can you take over a system somebody else installed?

Usually, yes. Send a photo of the recorder and we’ll tell you what we can do with it.

Do you do commercial?

Yes — shops, storage facilities, and small business.

Can you cover a job site?

Yes.
